According to a GoFundMe page, Mamie Laverock, known for her
role as Rosaleen Sullivan in several episodes of the Hallmark
Channel series "When Calls the Heart," is on life support after falling five stories from a balcony walkway. This was organized by her family.
After spending two weeks in intensive treatment for a "medical
emergency" at the hospital, Laverock was moved out of a secure
hospital unit and onto a balcony walkway, where she fell five stories,
according to the fundraiser page set up by her parents, Rob and
Nicole Compton.
"She sustained life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple
extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support," her parents
wrote. "We are devastated and in shock during this incredibly difficult
time."
According to the GoFundMe campaign, Laverock's mother went to
Winnipeg, Canada, on May 11 to assist with Laverock's "medical
emergency." "Nicole was able to arrive in time to help save her life,"
the details read. Laverock was then transferred to a hospital in
Vancouver. At that time, her parents wrote that "her recovery is
uncertain" but "she is alive and showing signs of improvement."
Hallmark Media responded to the incident with a statement to
Variety: "We are deeply saddened to hear about Mamie. As a beloved
member of our 'When Calls the Heart' community, we wish her and
her family
peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time."
Laverock fell from a balcony on May 26, two weeks after her initial
hospital admission. Details of Laverock's medical emergency remain
unclear.
As of this publication, the fundraiser has raised over $14,500 to
assist with Laverock's recovery.
Laverock's "When Calls the Heart" co-stars have shown support for
the young actor on social media. Erin Krakow shared the GoFundMe
page on her Instagram, writing, "I just donated. If you have the means,
I hope you will too." Johannah Newmarch shared the link on Twitter,
writing, "I love this family, my heart is broken. Please help if you can.
They need all the support they can get through this." Loretta Walsh
similarly promoted the fundraiser, writing, "Please donate and share if
you can. Mamie and her family need our help. Link in bio. Thank you."
From 2014 to 2023, Laverock appeared in nine episodes of "When
Calls the Heart," including the premiere episode. Her other credits
include "This Means War," "A Series of Unfortunate Events," and
"The Hollow Child."
